Integrated Care -Coaching and Osteopathy

Integrated care brings together osteopathic assessment and treatment with the opportunity to explore the wider influences on your health.
These may include sleep, stress, nutrition, physical activity, daily routines, emotional well being and confidence in movement .

We begin by understanding your physical concerns, your personal circumstances and what you hope to achieve.
Together we can explore how osteopathic treatment, exercise, education nutrition and coaching may support your individual goals.
The result is a practical, personalised approach that can evolve as your needs and circumstances change.

Discovering Your Own Resources

Coaching is a guided process that helps people recognise, develop and make better use of their own abilities and resources.
In sport, it is widely recognised that individuals may possess stregnths and capabilities that remain unexplored or underdeveloped.

The same principle can apply to everyday health.

Whether someone is experiencing persistent pain , postural difficulties, sporting challenges, age-related changes or disability, understanding their existing abilities can be an important part of moving forward.
The coaching process encourages individuals to recognise these "resources" and become active participants in their own healthcare.

This can help shift treatment from something that is simply received towards a collaborative process involving understanding, participation and self management.

Bringing Osteopathy and Coaching Together

My training as a Coach introduced me to the importance of consistent daily actions for health, sometimes described as "non negotiables ".
These principles encouraged me to take greater responsibility for my own wellbeing and have become an important part of my personal and professional life.

Further education in coaching has complemented my osteopathic training, adding another dimension to how i communicate, understand individual circumstances and support personal development.

Effective healthcare involves more than technical skill. It also depends on listening, communication, shared decision-making and understanding each person's expectations and goals .

These principles are central to good osteopathic practice .

Choosing the Right Level of Care

For some people, a course of osteopathic treatment, supported by appropriate advice and exercise, may be all that is required.
For others, a more comprehensive approach may be beneficial .
Persistent pain. recurring physical difficulties or challenges involving sleep, stress, nutrition , exercise and lifestyle may call for a broader explanation of health .
Integrated care provides the opportunity to consider these influences together, developing a plan that is a meaningful realistic and appropriate to the individual .
Our aim is not simply to provide treatment, but to help you to understand your health and develop the confidence and resources to participate in your own wellbeing .
